What do I do for a living? According to my kids.... not much! I essentially sit around the house all day in my office with my computer. I do pretty much the same during the weekend only I'm usually at the kitchen table. Not much of a change for them.
This is a brief introduction of my skills and abilities. Please see my resume and project experience for more detailed information. Here's a short list of some application that I have architected, designed and/or constructed. Over the past few 2-3 years I have begun to actually code less and architect more. I enjoy solving the business problems more that actually doing the coding.
With the recent introduction of Microsoft's .NET Framework I have been turning my attention to C# and ASP.NET. I find .NET very powerful, easy to use and with VS.NET it is extremely quick to market. I mainly develop in Java and ColdFusion MX and am well versed in the following areas:

Over the past 6 or 7 years I have focused mainly on web-based application of all sizes. I have built simple, database-driven web sites for local Real Estate agents, hotels, and home builders as well as enterprise applications for companies such as Computer Associates, Anheuser-Busch, Coke, Ericsson, and Aventis to name a few. I recently left work at Backsoft Corporation in Sarasota. The company provides mainly SAP R/3 integrated eBusiness applications for some of the largest companies in the world. We had the opportunity to develop a wide range of SAP integrated application using Java, .NET, Web Services and ColdFusion MX. I worked on projects for the Computer Associates CleverPath Portal, a CFMX SAP-PS application for CenturyTel and a Java Web Service/CFMX application for Henry Wurst.
Some high profile projects included:
- Lead team to architected, designed and build a Java middleware component solution allowing for integration with virtually any backend system by exposing components as Web Services with Axis. Allowed for the modeling of components based upon an existing database schema and automatically generating interfaces, implementations, JavaBeans, servlets, deployment descriptors and JSP pages. Provided a default set of SQL method enabling immediate functionality for the components via a default JSP interface. Implemented a Web Service "wrapper" to delagate calls to different implementations providing connectivity to multiple backend system.
- Engineered and developed a CMS in CFMX & ASP.NET/C#. NetDango a full-featured, easy-to-use, web-based content management solution enabling small to mid-sized organizations to develop, edit, maintain and manage their website content in real-time. Features include content and template management, user management, personalization and drop-in "gadgets".
- Rewrote an existing ASP application in ASP.NET/C# that integrated with SQL Server 2000 and mySQL. The application allowed multiple companies to maintain template based emails and send targeted messages to individual recepients or groups of recepients at scheduled periods. Also provided contact Also provided contact management, group administration and historical reporting of emails sent.
- Created an SAP R/3 integration application for Intech Professionals as a proof of concept for Computer Associates' CleverPath Portal. The application provided employee management, purchase requisition creation and retrieval and trip management functionality integrated with SAP R/3 utilizing Intech Professional's Java bTalk components and portlets.
